Talking animals have been characters in literature for centuries. In this collection Patrick Hunt uses biblical stories of animals giving them voices and presenting the biblical story from their imagined viewpoint. In so doing, he offers words of wisdom from unlikely characters in the Bible.
How did the animals in the Garden of Eden react to their pristine environment? What might have the animals on Noah’s ark communicated to one another? What might the lions that faced off with Daniel have thought? What about the donkey that Jesus rode into Jerusalem? This delightful and thought-provoking volume offers 24 stories giving life to well-worn idioms such as a “bird’s eye view” and “straight from the horse’s mouth.”
